What is Project Makerspace?
About the Project
Project Makerspace is a collaborative project that will empower Indigenous youth across the Atlantic region through the creation of mobile makerspaces that will bring STEAM education directly to communities. The first makerspace is currently in development and will serve Indigenous communities across New Brunswick.

Designed and created alongside Indigenous youth
We have been engaging youth and communities in a participatory design process to create a mobile makerspace that belongs to the Indigenous communities it will serve. Every element of the design, from the windows and doors to the bump out and adaptable spaces, came from youth ideas shared through drawings, models, and conversations.
STEAM education made mobile
The mobile makerspace is a specially designed trailer equipped with state-of-the-art tools, technology, and resources, serving as a dynamic and accessible learning hub that travels directly to Indigenous communities. The makerspace will offer workshops, demonstrations, and interactive sessions that inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and cultivate essential skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

What would you like to learn in the mobile makerspace?
We're visiting communities across New Brunswick this summer to host fun science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) activities for Indigenous youth and collaboratively find out what kinds of activities the mobile makerspace should offer.
Stay tuned for upcoming sessions or contact our team to book a session.
